JOB DESCRIPTION

Inspection, Maintenance & Repair. The project commenced with a close visual inspection and NDT by rope access. To quantify and cross-check the initial results the client recommended that isolated welds were strengthened and retested to confirm integrity. DBC provided additional weld, fastener and coating inspections during the welding program. DBC erected a Husik suspended platform to enable access the worksite. Pre and post weld heat treatment were completed. Teams and equipment were mobilised in advance of a wet cold front in order to complete the vital repairs prior to the scheduled James Webb Space Telescope images transmission. Wind chill and frost challenged the welding program but it was safely executed to the required CSIRO/JPL standard in time for us all to see those magnificent images return from space.

TESTIMONIAL

Just wanted to personally say thanks for the work completed. The return-to-service meeting this morning went very well. Loads of praise for DBC from JPL(NASA). Was good to hear that and I wanted to pass it on. CDSCC and CSIRO people are also very grateful. Very impressive to see a contractor with such skills and expertise able to meet customer requirements so well.
