JOB DESCRIPTION

This project required the decommissioning of 5 refractory brick lined concrete chimney stacks. All the chimneys were accessed using rigging and rope access. The HUSIK variable diameter triple deck platform and cathead were installed and removed without the need of a crane. This was advantageous as the site had a small footprint and the work could be completed out of the weather. The entire chimney was sealed and kept at negative air pressure to keep dust internal. The day shift workscope included removal of 9.5m high refractory brick lift down to 1 brick course above the concrete corbel. The Night shift used the ACM licenced removalists to remove the final course and ACM then cleaned the area before day shift arrived. This was repeated 8 times until all the ACM and refractory brick was segregated and removed.

Nearly 4 years later the project is drawing to a close and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you and your teams for the efforts expended.
